Grande Cheese Home Office

The Grande Cheese Home Office, located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a 40-acre environment inspired by the functional beauty of an orchard, a unique place where one is surrounded by cultivation and productivity. The landscape’s orchards, vineyards, small cultivated gardens and native vegetation evoke the essential ties between the company and its dependencies to the landscape and the dairy industry that supports it. Through these spaces one can recall the origins of the company and its Sicilian roots that recall the village life of Montelepre where bonds of family and friendship are shared through the fruit of harvest. These cultural roots are reflected in the spirit of the modern Grande Cheese Company: a working environment that fosters sharing, mutual respect, friendship, family and community and a passion for quality, craftsmanship and fine foods. Within the site are located areas of specific purpose and character. These include the entry road, parking court, arrival piazza, four seasons garden, orchard, courtyard, south overlook terrace, kitchen garden, vineyard, and meadow pond, kettle ponds, and woodland valley walk. Significant attention was given to develop the concept design for the Home Office. Incorporating research into the history of the company, existing site, geographic and climatological location, native vegetation and company functions.
